Indira Education Society Armori,District Gadchiroli has been established in 1986 with a goal to open different levels of education in backward area of Gadchiroli District. The Managing Committee of the society is ready to serve poor, tribal and backward students' from different communities. President of the society Hon. Babasaheb Bhatkulkar has been providing primary up to degree level of education in different area of the district.
There was no any provision of higher education in Korchi taluka up to 1994. Students from this region face various problems for higher education. They have to cross long distance to take higher education; but because of poor financial condition, it was impossible for every student to shift at Gadchiroli, Armori, Wadsa and Kurkheda. Therefore society has opened a degree college at Korchi in 1994-95 session, and also made a provision of higher education in a very remote, backward, tribal and naxal affected area. Now a days, students' from various villages are benefitted by the college.
The Society also opened a junior college in 2004-2005 session with two streams - Arts and Science on permanent no grant basis. But after qualifying 12th science, there was no any provision of B. Sc. Therefore, B. Sc. (Science Stream) also commenced in 2011-12 academic year. College also conducts curricular and co - curricular activities to make all-round development of the students.
